The Oyo State Primary Health Care Board, in partnership with the Oyo SWAp Programme, Eclectic Humanitarian Support and Development Initiative (EHSaDI), Centre for Population and Reproductive Health (CCPRH), and Egbeda Local Government Health Authority, successfully hosted a One-Day Capacity Building Workshop on Maternal Health and officially launched the Egbeda Maternity Digital App on Monday, 3rd November, 2025 at the Ministry of Health Conference Hall, Ibadan.
The workshop was organized by Mr. Happiness Opeyemi Agboola, National Health Fellow for Egbeda LGA (2025), as the second phase of his Capstone Project, in collaboration with Mrs. Abodunrin, Reproductive Health Officer, Oyo State Primary Health Care Board.
The event featured technical presentations by experts including Dr. Adeagbo (Oyo SWAp), Dr. Adewale Jamiu Lasisi (Adeoyo Maternity Hospital), Emeritus Prof. Oladosu A. Ojengbede (CCPRH), and Mrs. Iyanuoluwa Olaitan (EHSaDI), focusing on strengthening maternal health systems, capacity building, and promoting safe motherhood through digital innovation.
The Egbeda Maternity Digital App, launched during the workshop, is designed to support pregnant women and PHC staff by empowering them through digital care. Additionally, injectable contraceptives and bilingual maternal health awareness banners were distributed across Egbeda LGA to boost grassroots utilization of primary health services.
The event witnessed active participation from PHC representatives, partner organizations, and frontline health workers, under the leadership of Honourable Sikiru Sanda, Executive Chairman of Egbeda LGA, demonstrating a collective commitment to improving maternal health outcomes in the community.
